Christmas should be a magical time of year, a time shared with loved ones, family and friends, exchanging gifts and making memories. However for some people in Sandwell it will be spent alone, it will be spent in care, spent out on the streets and there will be no Christmas dinner or exchanging of gifts. St Albans Community Association and Dorothy Parkes Centre, two Smethwick based charities who between them provide quality, holistic, advice, guidance, support and a place of welcome and opportunity, at grass roots level, on a day-to-day basis, are working together to help make a difference this Christmas.

We are appealing to the local community to support our ‘Give a Gift Campaign’ and donate new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children who might not otherwise receive a Christmas present or a gift for an older person spending Christmas alone. We ask that all donations are made by Friday 14th December 2018. Donations can be dropped in at either centre or we can arrange collection of donations and we will provide a full list of where they are being distributed.

Please contact St Albans on 0121 558 0018 or Dorothy Parkes Centre on 0121 558 2998 if you require any further information.

Thank you to Ellen and the team at ASDA Cape Hill for their donations. We have now had over 100 donations which is fantastic. Huge thank you to everybody who has supported the appeal so far.
