On Saturday 21st July the Dorothy Parkes Centre hosted the annual Summer Fayre in partnership with Smethwick Old Church. The weather was kind and we were joined by some special guests including the Deputy Mayor of Sandwell Councillor Carol Goult, Spiderman, Wonder Woman, the National Citizen Service, DJ Carl, Eagles Caribbean Takeaway as well as local community groups, stall holders & performers. Thank you to Healthy Sandwell who provided us with a Micro Grant towards the event & attended on the day to promote Health Checks.

There was a really good atmosphere and the local community turned out in force to be entertained, fed and grab a bargain! Children enjoyed the village fete games which were provided by Forest of Hearts and included old favourites such as Splat-a-Rat, Buzzwire, Ring-a-Bull & Hook-a-Duck!

We would like to thank everybody who was involved as the event raised over £1,000 which will be shared between the Centre and the Church.
