Get involved Volunteering Mini Bus Driver Volunteer Role Description for Minibus Driver Role Summary We are working in partnership with St Albans Community Centre and they require a minibus driver to work as part of a team for St Alban’s Day Care Service Transport provision. Main activities/tasks Collecting vulnerable and elderly clients from given pick up points to attend St Albans Day Centre provision and returning home once the centre has closed. Responsible for the health and safety of clients using the day service transport provision. Carry out day and weekly vehicle checks and basic maintenance. Reporting any vehicle defects, faults, incidents and accidents. Ensure the vehicle is in a clean and roadworthy condition before and after use. Refuel vehicles as required. Relevant experience/skills You must hold a driving licence and be confident to work with vulnerable and elderly clients. Support and training will be provided, you will need to be proactive, work independently and as a team and take instructions. Training and support We have an induction process, during which we give volunteers the information we believe they need to enjoy their time with us. The Community Navigator will give volunteers any specific information they need before starting. Volunteers will have supervisions with the Community Navigator to allow them to give and receive feedback about their work. They are also encouraged to bring up any concerns or questions as soon as they arise and make an input into the overall development of our Centre. Availability Morning and afternoon routines can be established and agreed with the Community Navigator. Days can be flexible to work around other commitments.
