Outmeals Delivery Driver Volunteer Role Description for Outmeals Delivery Driver Role Summary We are working in partnership with St Albans Community Centre and they require a volunteer outmeals delivery driver to help older people and those with health conditions to remain living independently at home. Main activities/tasks Obtain delivery run and cash flow from staff at St Albans. Check food orders match against meals provided. Distribute and collect menu’s each week. Check and collect money taken from clients for payment of meal provision. Collect previous days plates and bowls and return to kitchen staff. Check cash float is balanced at the end of each day. Report any concerns or complaints received to staff at St Albans. Record mileage. Relevant experience/skills To be passionate about working with client’s in the community that need additional support. To be confident when dealing with people. Enthusiasm and basic literacy skills are required to undertake this task. To have a clean driving licence and access to a car that is roadworthy. Check completed with insurance company that vehicle can be used to deliver outmeals on a volunteer basis. Training and support We have an induction process, during which we give volunteers the information we believe they need to enjoy their time with us. The Community Navigator will give volunteers any specific information they need before starting. Volunteers will have supervision with the Community Navigator to allow them to give and receive feedback about their work. They are encouraged to bring up any concerns or questions as soon as they arise and make an input into the overall development of our Centre. Availability Monday – Friday 11.30 – 1pm. A routine can be established and agreed with the Community Navigator. Additional information Based at St Albans Community Centre, St Albans Road, Smethwick, B67 7NL. A DBS certificate is required. Car Driver, clean driving licence with access to an insured car.
