Trustee

Before the Dorothy Parkes Centre, I took bookings for the Church Hall for many events, rents for garages and interviewed couples who wanted to get married.

I am one of two original Trustees of the Dorothy Parkes Centre which was opened in 2000.

I was born and have worked in Smethwick for most of my life. Attended Crocketts Lane Junior School, followed by Park Modern Girls’ School and Sandwell College.

The voluntary organisations I have worked within are: The Towns Womens’ Guild, President of Smethwick Soroptimists, Vice Chair of Smethwick Environment Group, also a member of the Womens’ Refuge, Mission to Seamen and a Magistrate.

I have been a member of the congregation at Old Church for many years. The church has been a part of my life in the community, I am the wedding clerk, a Deputy Warden and Verger for funerals.
