The Dorothy Parkes Centre has been delighted to be part of Global’s Make Some Noise Appeal this year. We found out back in the summer that we had been selected as one of Global’s chosen charities and on the Appeal Day, Friday 6th October, they raised an incredible £3 million thanks to the amazing generosity of the general public. This money will go towards funding life changing projects for people living with mental and physical health issues, debt, homelessness and hunger.

We are guaranteed a minimum of £30,000 which we will receive in 2024 and we have some ambitious plans to transform our kitchen, making it modern, safe, and accessible for cooking courses for members of our local community.

Staff, volunteers and service users joined in the fun on Appeal Day by dressing up loud and our project was mentioned on news bulletins throughout the day on radio stations such as Heart FM, Capital, Smooth, Classic FM and Radio X.
