In September we saw the end of three popular projects at DPC.

This Girl Can, was a FREE, women’s only fitness session, held twice a week since September 2021. It was funded by Sport England and delivered by local fitness instructor, Mel Bridger. This proved to be a popular project helping local women reach their individual health and fitness goals.

STEM Science Shows were held at the Centre in all of the school holidays since October last year. We delivered eight in total, in partnership with local provider Femtinos and this was funded by Millennium Point Trust. The aim was to engage with primary school aged children and get them involved in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities and learn about STEM careers. These shows were often fully booked and themes included Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Weather, Commonwealth, & Allotment.

Your Health Matters was a quick 13-week programme with sessions twice a week based on health & fitness. The sessions were funded by Public Health Sandwell and included health & nutritional talks and exercise classes. They were delivered by local fitness instructor Carl Harris and the number of attendees was high. The good news about this project is that we have secured further funds via Active Black Country/Sport England to carry this on until March 2023. Please call the Centre for further details.
