On Saturday 23rd September, the local community were all invited onto our Community Allotment Plot to experience and enjoy four live performances with a growing and gardening theme.

The event, in partnership with Black Country Touring celebrated community gardens and the local people who work, volunteer and spend precious time in them. Four short performances were grown from these spaces and people, made with local artists and incorporated poetry, music, visual vernacular and spoken word.

The weather certainly played its part after days of wind and rain we were treated to sunshine and the community came out in force to witness this unique free event.

The allotment committee also got involved, with apple pressing taking place and guests treated to some pure, fresh apple juice.

The visit to our Community Allotment Plot was part of a tour of Black Country Community Gardens which also included:

Gatis Community Space, Wolverhampton

Caldmore Community Garden, Walsall

Hawbush Gardens, Dudley

We would like to thank Black Country Touring, all of the fabulous artists, Bearwood Allotment Committee, our funders, and all of the volunteers who help make these community gardens such fantastic facilities.
