The Dorothy Parkes Centre has secured a £5,000 grant from The Bob Willis Fund which will enable us to continue delivering our Loss Matters project in 2024.

Bob Willis, the former England cricket captain, opinionated Sky Sports broadcaster and hero of Headingley 1981, passed away in December 2019 from Prostate Cancer.

The fund has been set up by Bob’s family to raise money for Prostate Cancer research and awareness and this year they want to support people who are struggling to deal with loss or bereavement.

Our Loss Matters project provides support via an eight week group based programme and more details can be found here:

Loss Matters

We would like to extend our thanks to The Bob Willis Fund and The Talent Fund for the grant and the support.
