Rob Bruce

Chief Executive Officer

When did you start at DPC?

July 2017 – seems like yesterday!

What do you enjoy most about working at DPC?

The diversity of the role and meeting so many people. I get to wear so many hats, from producing a risk assessment, to completing an application for funding, digging down at the allotment and introducing quality family theatre, it certainly keeps me busy. It is a pleasure to work with our staff and volunteers and serve a wonderful community.

What one thing would you change at DPC?

I would like to have a new, modern, fully accessible kitchen so that we can make more use of the space and use produce from our allotment to deliver cooking classes.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy playing and watching football (big Albion fan), occasionally play golf (badly), and chilling out at home binge watching on Netflix or catch up. I have recently started cooking from scratch & going down the allotment which I have really enjoyed.

What is your favourite film?

Shawshank Redemption – a film I can watch again and again. I must admit I also love watching Home Alone during the festive season!

What is your favourite food?

Fillet steak and chips.

What is your favourite holiday destination?

Oludeniz in Turkey – I went there in 2017 and had the best two weeks ever.

What is your favourite book?

I enjoy autobiographies and thought Sir Alex Ferguson’s were always interesting. I am currently reading his follow up book which is based on management and leadership.

What makes you laugh?

I love watching Only Fools and Horses, no matter how many times I watch them, they always get me!

Tell us something interesting about yourself?

In November 2015 I visited all 92 football league grounds in England in 92 hours and raised £3,500 for Children in Need with three mates.
